ז"ל Our sages have decreed to read during the year four tracks added to the Parashat ha-shavu'a, from head to head until the month of Adar month of Nissan (the month after Adar ), to remember the four elements that have occurred to the people of Israel and in connection with the events of those days.
The songs are known by the name of the people "'Parashiot Arba" (four tracks) and are:
Parashat Sheqalim
The first week פרשת שקלים "Parashat Sheqalim. When the Bet Ha-Miqdash was still standing, each of the people of Israel was obliged to give every year half a shekel for the needs of the Bet Ha-Miqdash to buy sheep for sacrifices of ציבור Tzibbur ~ collectives and "Qorban Ha-Tamid "which is the daily sacrifice. Parashat Parah
The fourth week (22 for the month of Adar when the first Shabbat falls on Rosh Chodesh Adar Kodesh) reads the פרשת פרה "Parashat Parah", a song that begins with the words וזאת חקת התורה "Vezot Chuqqat Ha-Torah" ~ "and this is the law of the Torah" ["Chuqqat" Deuteronomy 19.1 -?] At the time of the Bet Ha-Miqdash anyone was unclean could not participate in the sacrifice of קרבן הפסח "Ha-Qorban Passover," and if it was unclean and was dead due to impurities can be purified only through the ashes of the red cow; today in place of this rite of purity we read in this parashah which explains the procedure before the Shabbat "Parashat Ha-Chodesh."
Parashat Ha-Chodesh
The פרשת החודש "Parshat Ha-Chodesh" begins with the words החודש הזה לכם "Ha-Chodesh haze lachem" ~ "and this month for you " in Parashat Bo where we Miẓwah Qorban the Passover of his time and procedure, so we read in Parashat head of this month of Nissan when it falls on Shabbat or the Sabbath preceding the month in the case head falls on a weekday.
Notes
